On a Personal Note
Jim grew up in Southern California and attended UCLA. He moved to Portland in 1984 to be closer to his then young daughter: Michelle. That year he also met JoAnn Glandon and they have been together ever since. With his past experience in the life insurance industry, he decided to specialize in the Tax Sheltered Annuity [§403(b)] business, which caters to the retirement needs of educators and non-profit employees. In 1990 he became an independent financial advisor which allowed him to provide a wider variety of products and services that could be designed to better enhance a client's goals and objectives. After passing the necessary exams, Jim was awarded the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in 1996. In 1995 he affiliated with Legend Equities Corporation that had a focus on §403(b) plans and retirement planning in general. In January 1998 Mustard Financial Services, Inc. was formed.
Jim has been helping people attain their financial goals and objectives for over 20 years. Jim provides his clients the best service and financial advice with integrity, honesty and objectivity. Being an independent advisor allows Jim to put his client's needs first. He takes pride in watching them attain the goal of being financially independent at retirement and enjoys many long-term relationships that have developed along the way.
Jim enjoys golf, wine, meditation and traveling. He is a member of the PSU Backers, the Portland Cascade Lions Club and Riverside Golf Club.
Back Office Staff:
JoAnna: JoAnna has been working as Jim's assistant since 2002. She is available to answer questions or provide assistance if you need any service. She strives to support Jim and his clients by providing back office support. JoAnna enjoys learning Spanish, traveling and harassing Jim because he golfs too much!
Kristen: Kristen has been working as Jim's assistant since 1994. She worked for many years in the office but now works remotely from Mexico part of the year. She has many years of experience working and helping many of Jim's clients and is also available if you have any questions or need any assistance. Kristen enjoys tennis, traveling and working for Jim, of course.
